Are there any side effects to yoni steaming?
- Some users experience cervical fluid or discharge after yoni steaming, and that is completely normal (especially if you were steaming to aid in clearing an infection). If you experience any sort of rash, pain, or itching, then you could have an infection and would want to consult a medical professional immediately.
- Due to the increased circulation in your pelvic floor, you may feel the urge to urinate after steaming.
- Steaming can help to loosen old residue that is in the uterus. Therefore, you may experience some clots or see brown blood during your next period.
- Depending on your steaming goals, to perhaps shorten or extend your menstrual cycle, your next period may come at a different time than what you were expecting. If you want to work on getting your cycle within a normal range, working with Katy 1:1 is a great option!

Personalized information about how often you should steam can be attained by consulting a peristeam facilitator or hydrotherapist.
